"EU-SEI, Turkey’s only renewable energy dedicated research institute, established in 1978 for graduate education and research activities. Along with the solar energy, other renewable energy resources like wind, biomass and geothermal are also being studied for energy saving and efficiency aspects. In collaboration with the universities and other organizations in and outside of the country, scientific researches, Master and PhD education, national and international symposiums, panels and seminars, documentation and literature studies are performed at the institute. EU-SEI conducts Turkish PV Technology Platform (UFTP) which covers public bodies, local authorities, universities, trade and professional chambers and industrial companies with financial support of TUBİTAK (The Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey).
The platform has been commissioned to execute IEA-PVPS (International Energy Agency-Photovoltaic Power Systems) activities on behalf of Turkish Government. UFTP creates contact points in decision making bodies of private, public and international research institutions and industry organizations and aims to define an accurate and effective PV Technology Roadmap for Turkey. EU-SEI has recently signed a “Renewable Energy Vocational Standard Preparation Protocol” with the National Qualifications Authority (MYK) of Turkey.
